Kimberly Jo Rioux, 42, of 58 Granite St., Westerly, was arrested Sept. 9 at 12:30 p.m. on felony charges of obtaining a controlled substance under false representation.
On July 10, Rioux allegedly passed a fake prescription for Adderall at Walmart’s pharmacy. The pharmacist thought the prescription looked suspicious and called the doctor’s office, which verified that the prescription was fake. According to the doctor, he believed that Rioux stole a prescription pad from his office sometime before April 2013 and had attempted several times to write fake prescriptions for herself, according to reports. Through a check of the police database, North Kingstown officers discovered that Rioux has had numerous run-ins with other departments regarding fake prescriptions.
