Boat Burns off Hog Island, No Injuries Reported
The Narragansett Bay Marine Task Force was activated to fight the fire at around 3 p.m. Thursday.

HOG ISLAND, RI—Area fire crews battled a boat fire off Hog Island on Thursday that sent a plume of smoke across the bay and drew firefighters from across Rhode Island.
Crews responded to the fire at around 3 p.m. and initial reports indicate nobody was hurt. All occupants of the powerboat were able to get to shore and watch as members of the Narragansett Bay Marine Task Force and other agencies doused jets of water on the flames.
The fire rekindled at around 5 p.m. and crews had to return for another round.
