Cranston Man And Woman, Providence Man Traffick Cocaine In Portsmouth: Police

Portsmouth police said they seized about 380 grams of cocaine, following a joint investigation with the DEA and Newport police.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — Three people from Rhode Island were arrested Thursday who Portsmouth police said were trafficking cocaine.

Portsmouth police said they seized about 380 grams of cocaine, following a joint investigation with the DEA and the Newport Police Department. The following people were arrested and charged around 2 p.m.:

  • Francisco Vazquez, 39, of Cranston, was charged with two counts of manufacturing/possession/delivery of cocaine and manufacturing/possession/delivery of 1 ounce to 1 kilogram, conspiracy.
  • Sergio Ricard, 35, of Providence, was charged with manufacturing/possession/delivery of 1 ounce to 1 kilogram, conspiracy.
  • Nictsa Garcia, 49, of Cranston, was charged with two counts of manufacturing/possession/delivery of cocaine, conspiracy.

The three suspects were arraigned in Second Division District Court in Newport on Friday.
