CT Man Drives Intoxicated With 2 Children In Car: Portsmouth Police

Portsmouth police say Jhonny Cespedes-Gil, 32, had two children with him, ages 6 and 1, when he was charged with drunken driving.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — A Connecticut man was arrested in Portsmouth Saturday after police said he drunkenly drove with two children in the car.

Jhonny Cespedes-Gil, 32, of Hartford, Connecticut, was charged with DUI of liquor/drugs with a child passenger under 13 years of age.

Police said they pulled Cespedes-Gil over after he crossed over the center line on the road. Police said Cespedes-Gil had two children with him — ages 6 and 1. The children were released into the custody of a family member.

Cespedes-Gil has since been released. Police said he is scheduled to return to Newport District Court on July 18.
