Docked Boat Burns in Newport

A privately owned powerboat docked at Newport Onshore burned down to the waterline around 5:30 Wednesday morning, according to the Newport Fire Department. No injuries were reported. 

A witness said, when investigators were on scene, the boat was emitting black smoke and flames. The boat's name is reportedly Plan B.  

The boat has been towed to Newport Shipyard where will be pumped out. The cause of the fire is unknown and is currently under investigation by the Newport Police and Fire Departments.
