Outdoor Water Use Banned on Prudence Island
Severe dryness calls for severe outdoor water restrictions. All watering is banned, except for vegetable gardens three days a week.

PRUDENCE ISLAND, RI—A lack of rainfall, a low water table and depleted streams has prompted an outdoor water use ban for Prudence Island.
The Prudence Island Water District announced Tuesday that the restrictions ban virtually all outdoor water use with the one exception for vegetable gardens during the week on a restricted basis.
Watering of lawns, landscaping, shrubs, trees and gardens, along with power washing of vehicles and boats is prohibited until further notice.
