
Beth Goyette of Portsmouth thought her life was at an end two years ago.
On Dec. 1, 2011, Goyette, an executive administrator for the Greater Providence Board of Realtors, was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer.
After an oncologist told her there was no hope for a positive outcome, Goyette began research and found Dr. Alice Shaw at the Mass General Cancer Center.

Through genetic profiling of the tumor, Dr. Shaw determined that Beth’s cancer had the EGFR mutation.
A targeted therapy put Beth’s cancer in remission.

Goyette was recently honored for her courage in her battle against cancer at the Couture for Cancer Care, an event held by The Friends of Mass General Cancer Center.
Partnered with Caryn Kazanjian, nurse coordinator from Mass General Cancer Center, Beth recently walked the runway modeling fashion.
The annual fashion show honors cancer survivors, caregivers, and physicians as they take the runway.
This year’s event was held on Nov. 12 at Bloomingdale’s Chestnut Hill in Newton, MA.
