Portsmouth Native Getting Shot At NBA Dream

PORTSMOUTH, RI — A basketball player from Portsmouth might not have been drafted Thursday, but he'll still get a shot at his NBA dream.

Cole Swider, a 6-foot 9 former forward at St. Andrew's School, signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers and is expected to play on the team's summer league roster, Shams Charania, of the Athletic reported.

Swider, 21, last year transferred to Syracuse from Villanova and started all 33 games for the Orange. He averaged 13.9 points per game and led the team with 6.8 rebounds per game.
