Police say Heather Joseph, 44, of Portsmouth, drove almost a mile before she pulled over for officers trying to stop her on Burma Road.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — A Portsmouth woman was arrested Saturday after police said she drunkenly drove with two children in the car.
Heather Joseph, 44, was charged with DUI with a child passenger under 13, refusal to submit to a chemical breath test, and failure to yield for emergency vehicles.
Around 6:20 p.m., officers tried to pull over Joseph on Burma Road after Portsmouth police said she failed to pull over for officers responding to an emergency. According to police, Joseph did not slow down or pull over, even after officers changed the siren tones emanating from the cruiser.
