TIPS FOR PROPERTY FRAUD ALERT SERVICE
1) If you have a middle name, you should have three entries. One entry will be without the middle initial, one with your middle initial, and a third with your full middle name. All three entries are on the same screen.

2) The fraud alert is only triggered after a document is recorded. We cannot prevent a document from being recorded if it meets all recording requirements. You will not be notified if someone attempts to record a document in your name but is turned away.
3) The email address that is registered will receive the notification. The town does not receive any notification when an alert is sent.
4) The system is name-driven. You will receive a notification when a document is recorded where a grantor or grantee's name matches one of your entries. You must then look up the document in our online search to determine whether the document affects you.
