4 Hospitalized Following Providence Crash: Spokesman
A car crashed into a RIPTA bus carrying 12 students, a spokesman said.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A Tuesday afternoon crash sent four to the hospital, including three students, a spokesman for the city of Providence said.
A car and a RIPTA bus collided at the intersection of Charles and Corliss streets, said spokesman Josh Estrella.
"Preliminary investigation shows the vehicle operator failed to yield and struck the bus," Estrella said in an email.

The bus was carrying 12 students, Estrella said, three of whom were taken to the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle also was taken to the hospital, he said.
The driver was also issued a citation, he said.
