Massachusetts Fugitive Captured In Providence: Cops

The Massachusetts man was wanted for larceny and burglary, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A wanted Massachusetts man was apprehended in Providence, police said.

Peter Soares, 57, was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday during a traffic stop on Plain Street, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Soares, a resident of Seekonk, was arrested on a Seekonk Police Department warrant charging him with Larceny, a Wareham, Massachusetts, Police Department warrant charging him with burglary and a Massachusetts warrant charging him with being a fugitive from justice, according to the release.

Soares was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned and taken to the Adult Correctional Institutions Intake Center, the release said.
