Providence Fugitive Captured: Cops

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence fugitive was apprehended, police said.

Robert Johnston, 62, was arrested Friday, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Johnston was a fugitive from justice from Connecticut, according to the release.

"The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Department of Corrections Records and Identification Unit and the ACI Investigations Unit," the release said. "Mr. Johnston was arraigned in Third Division District Court, where he was remanded to the custody of the Sheriffs Department pending his return to Connecticut."
