Providence Machete Attack Leaves 68-Year-Old Man Injured

The injured man was in "good spirits" after the attack, an official said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A machete-wielding man attacked another man in Providence Sunday afternoon, an official said.

The man on the wrong end of the Machete — a 68-year-old — suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, Kristy dosReis, the chief public information officer for the Providence Department of Public Safety, said in an email.

The machete man had fled before officers arrived, dosReis said.
