Providence Prowler Pinched Following Foot Pursuit: Police
The Providence man ran off from a traffic stop, police said.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A wanted Providence burglar was captured after he ran off from a traffic stop Monday night, police said.
Andre Rodriguez, 44, was wanted on warrants charging him with burglary and failing to appear in court when he was stopped on Manton Avenue in Providence shortly after 11:30 p.m., the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Rodriguez ran away from the traffic stop, according to the release, but was captured following the "subsequent foot pursuit."

Rodriguez was also charged with resisting arrest, obstructing an officer in execution of duty and disorderly conduct, the release said.

"Rodriguez was transported to Roger Williams Hospital for an evaluation, then transported to State Police Headquarters for processing, and held overnight pending arraignment at Sixth Division District Court where he will be presented as a Bail Violator," the release said.

State police Lt. Col. Robert Creamer and the state police legal office did not immediately respond when asked for further information and the police reports associated with Rodriguez's arrest.
