Wanted Wakefield Shoplifter Captured During Traffic Stop: Cops

The wanted shoplifter was arrested in Providence, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A wanted shoplifter from Wakefield was apprehended during a traffic stop in Providence, police said.

Wendy Gadrow, 47, was stopped during a traffic stop shortly after midnight Tuesday, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Gadrow was wanted on warrants charging her with shoplifting from the North Kingstown Police Department, the North Kingstown Police Department, the Warwick Police Department and the Cranston Police Department, according to the release.

"This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Hartford Avenue in the City of Providence," the release said.

"Gadrow was processed at Scituate Barracks and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution — Women's Intake Center," according to the release.
