Smithfield Councilwoman Honored by New Leaders Council of RI

Among this year's recipients of awards from the New Leaders Council of Rhode Island was Smithfield Town Councilwoman Suzy Alba, who received the Neighborhood and Community Award for 2013.

The NLC described Alba, who took the highest vote total in the 2012 election, as having "tremendous energy" and moving "in spaces all over the Ocean State."

Alba, one of four young leaders recognized at the May 9 event, also serves as a member of the board of the Women's Fund of Rhode Island, and is a member of the Rhode Island College Alumni Association.
