During the period of Aug. 17 through Aug. 24 the Smithfield Fire Department responded to a total of 114 calls for service. Of those, 74 were for medical emergencies, resulting in 63 transports to local hospitals.
Fire apparatus from all 3 firehouses was used for 114 responses.
- Engine 1 responded to 59 calls.
- Rescue 1 responded to 50 calls.
- Engine 2 responded to 51 calls.
- Rescue 2 responded to 39 calls.
