Smithfield Police Arrest Man Wanted For Domestic Vandalism, Disorderly Conduct

The following information was provided by the Smithfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

On April 4, at about 10 p.m., Smithfield Police visited local home on a tip from a school principal that Quarmaine Thompson, 33, of 350 Orms St., Providence, was living at a student's house.

The principal informed police a student had told him his father, Thompson, was staying at their home again. Thompson, who was wanted on warrants for Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Domestic Vandalism Feb. 24, was also not supposed to be living at the home, according to the DCYF, according to a police report.

A DCYF official accompanied Smithfield officers to the home, where they insisted on a well-being check of children at the address after the mother told them they couldn't come in. Once inside, the officers discovered Thompson in a room the woman tried to keep them away from.

"I don't want any trouble," Thompson said, according to the report. He was arrested on the warrants.
