Smithfield Police Log: Assault, Burglary and Trespassing at Georgiaville Beach
The following information was supplied by the Smithfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction:

Editor's note: The following is a partial account of the incidents Smithfield Police responded to during July 27-30.
Saturday, July 27:
- At about 7:45 a.m., Smithfield Police responded to the Alpine Motel at 485 Douglas Pike, arresting Todd Sullo, 39 and charging him with domestic simple assault and battery.
- At about 3:45 p.m., Smithfield Police responded to a home on Whipple Road for a break-in. More than $1,000 in cash and jewelry were stolen.
- At about 11:45 p.m., Smithfield Police responded to House of Pizza at 970 Douglas Pike for a report of a hit and run on an unattended vehicle.
- At about 3:45 p.m., Smithfield Police responded to a Deer Run Trail residence to mediate a verbal dispute involving several family members.
- At about 11:45 p.m. Smithfield Police arrested Alexander Gagnon, 23, charging him with suspicion of driving under the influence, and refusing a chemical test.
Monday, July 29:
- At about 7:45 a.m., Smithfield Police arrested Esmeralda Diaz, 26, for driving with a suspended license.
- At about 3:45 p.m. Smithfield Police arrested Steven Leoni, 20, chargin him with eluding an officer.
- At about 3:45 p.m., Smithfield Police arrested four individuals for trespassing at Georgiaville Beach. The older three — Alexandria Birmingham, 20, of Cherry Hill Road, Johnston; Vincent DiStefano, 18, of Old Gas Road, Johnston; and Michael J. Murray, 22, of Connors Farm Road, Smithfield — were issued District Court summonses to appear at hearings on Aug. 13.
