Smithfield Police Log: Scooter Swiped, Vehicle Scratched, Assault and Credit Fraud

The following information was supplied by the Smithfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction:

Editor's note: The following is a partial account of the incidents Smithfield Police responded to during Aug. 21-22.

Wednesday, Aug. 21:

  • At about 7:45 a.m., Smithfield Police responded to a call from a man reporting vandalism to his vehicle while it was parked on Gladstone St.
  • At about 3:45 p.m., Smithfield Police responded to  a report of a stolen 2008 Baja Scooter from a Rogler Farm Road Home.
  • At about 3:45 p.m., Smithfield Police arrested Daniel Gautreau, 21, charging him with vandalism. Police allege Gautreau keyed a vehicle parked at a Rogler Farm Road residence.
  • At about 3:45 p.m. Smithfield Police responded to Hope Valley State Police Barracks to take custody of Favian Carpio, 47, apprehended on a warrant for felony assault. 
Thursday, Aug. 22:
  • At about 7:45 a.m., Smithfield Police arrested Erica Young, 30, on a Superior Court Bench Warrant for failing to appear in court on a charge of fraudulent use of a credit card.
  • At about 11:45 p.m., Smithfield Police arrested Eric Rodevitz, 34, charging him with shoplifting from Stop & Shop.
