Smithfield Weekend: Mortal and Musical Instruments

What are you planning to do this weekend around Johnston?

The forecast for Smithfield is for clear skies and comfortable temperatures — including near-80-degree spikes on Friday and Sunday -  so choose an event and get out and enjoy!

Starting Thursday night, the Rustic Tri-Vue Drive-In is showing:

  • Smurfs 2 [PG] and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters [PG]
  • We're the Millers [R] leading into The Conjuring [R], 
  • and Mortal Instruments: City of Bones [PG-13] followed by Elysium [R].
Admission is $25 per carload. Shows start at dusk, around 8:45 p.m.

This weekend, Chan's Fine Oriental Dining hosts Johnny A on Saturday night and Diane Blue with Jimmy '2 suits' Capone backed by the mighty Chan's Clan Horns.

Online tickets are $18 for Johnny A for both the 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. shows, $20 for Saturday night's Diane Blue show. 

Also in Woonsocket, the Stadium Theatre hosts a Dinner with Mount Rush 4 Unplugged. River Falls Seafood hosts the show. No online ticket sales — call (401) 762-4545. Note: there is a $1 per ticket service fee for telephone orders.

Josh Gates, host of SyFy's show Destination Truth, is sure to have some interesting stories on Saturday night, starting at 8 p.m.

Online tickets for the Gates appearance are $26 or $31.
