State Trooper Log: DUI on Rte. 295, Lincoln Murder Suspect Apprehended

Troopers arrest man for DUI after crash on Rte. 295

At 4:34 p.m. July 20, troopers arrested Kevin Walsh, age 53, of 8 Crystal Drive, Franklin, Massachusetts for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol -First Offense greater than .15% BAC.

The arrest was the result of Troopers responding to a motor vehicle accident on Route 295 North in the Town of Smithfield. The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed, arraigned before a Justice of the Peace and released.

Troopers arrest Lincoln man wanted for murder in Massachusetts

On July 21, at 11:20 a.m., members of the Rhode Island State Police Major Crimes Unit, Violent Fugitive Task Force, Lincoln Woods Barracks, United States Marshals' Service, Lincoln Police Department, and Providence Police, assisted by members of the Massachusetts State Police, arrested Willie Wilkerson, age 27, of 1200 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln, Rhode Island as a Fugitive from Justice from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 

On July 20, 2013, members of the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office obtained an affidavit and arrest warrant charging Wilkerson with murder. The multi-agency investigation to locate Wilkerson led to a surveillance of 1200 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln. During the surveillance Wilkerson was observed leaving the residence and was arrested without incident.

Wilkerson was processed and arraigned at the Lincoln Woods Barracks as a Fugitive from Justice. Justice of the Peace Lincoln S. Leonard ordered Wilkerson held at the Adult Correctional Institution pending arraignment in Sixth Division District Court on Monday, July 22.
