Thursday Five: Found Objects, Playground Project, Give Blood, Lifeguards Wanted

Lost yard items - If you're lawn gnome, garden angel or other yard decoration has gone missing, the Smithfield Police may have them. Several lawn ornaments were stolen from local homes Aug. 15 and deposited in front of Gallagher Middle School. 

Anyone who recognizes their ornament (or ornaments) in the photos can call the Smithfield Police Department at 401-231-2500 to arrange to pick them up. 

Playground Project - This Friday, Aug. 23, The Old County Road Playground Project will begin Phase II of the playground build at 9 a.m. at the school, 200 Old County Road, with unloading and pre-assembly. On Saturday at 7 a.m., the build will begin. The project needs volunteers, and you can sign up by contacting Heather Byrnes at hbyrnes@verizon.net or 401-578-6140.

Give Blood - Thursday, Aug. 22 Rhode Island Blood Center Bloodmobile will be at The Smithfield Company, 115 Pleasant View Ave, from 8am to 11am and then at Kohl's, 370 Putnam Pike, from 3 to 6 p.m. No appointment necessary.
