Road/lane closures: RIDOT warns local drivers of the following closures/restrictions for the week in the Smithfield area:
- I-295 SB, from Exit 8 (Rte. 7) to the Mowry Road Bridge, right lane and on-ramp from Rte. 7 to I-295 SB closed for bridge repair, Monday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Please follow detour using Rte. 7.
- Rte. 44 (Putnam Pike) EB & WB, from Danecroft Ave. to Austin Ave., right lane closed for construction, SundayThursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
