Fall River Man Arrested For Allegedly Stabbing Teen

Police arrested a Fall River, MA, man for allegedly stabbing a Fall River teen.

Police have arrested a Fall River, MA, man for allegedly stabbing a 17-year-old boy on Aug. 11 in Tiverton. 

Sean Hans, 21, of 959 Locust St., Fall River, MA, was arrested on Sept. 3 by the Fall River Police Department. Hans was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, a felony. 

Police first received a report of a stabbing on Aug. 11 at 12:55 a.m. on Judge Street in Tiverton. The area, located by the railroad tracks along the coastline, is known by police as an area where youths gather.

Officers responded, along with Tiverton Rescue, and found a dozen youths between the ages of 16 to 21. 

One of the youths, a 17-year-old boy from Fall River, MA, had been stabbed three to four times in the back and arm.

The teen was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. He was eventually released after undergoing several surgeries, police said. 

An investigation led police to identify Hans as a potential suspect. A warrant was issued on the charge of felony assault. 

Hans was recently arrested by Fall River police as a fugitive from justice. He was turned over to Tiverton police on Sept. 3 after waiving extradition. 

Hans appeared at a bail hearing on Sept. 3. Bail was then set at $5,000 with surety. The case has been turned over to the Attorney's General Office.
