Man Rescued by Tiverton Firefighters after Kayak Sinks
The man's kayak sank off Fogland Beach but a good Samaritan lent him a lifejacket and waited until firefighters arrived.

TIVERTON, RI—A Boston man was rescued by Tiverton firefighters who launched a rescue boat after his kayak sank on Saturday.
Firefighters said that the man was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for evaluation after being exposed to water temperatures in the mid 50s. Firefighters said the person "showed signs of hypothermia."
A good Samaritan nearby off Fogland Beach gave him a life jacket and waited until firefighters arrived.

Firefighters dispatched Tiverton's Marine 14 to retrieve the man and bring him to a nearby dock where an ambulance was waiting.Â
