Newport Man Charged With DUI After Vehicle Hits Stone Wall

Little Compton made the following arrests this week. 

• Kyle Coelho, 26, of Newport, was arrested on Aug. 29 at 1:23 a.m. after police stopped a vehicle operated by Coelho for a road lane violation. After officers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside Coelho’s vehicle, they administered a field test, which he allegedly failed. Coelho was charged with driving under the influence. After further investigation, Coelho told police he was involved in a single vehicle accident prior to being stopped. His vehicle apparently struck a stone wall on Sakonnet Point Road.
