SOUND OFF: What Safety Steps Should Tiverton-Little Compton Schools Take?

In the wake of the Newtown school shooting, what safety plans should Tiverton-Little Compton schools put in place? Should they increase security? Tell us in the comment section.

School administrators in both Tiverton and Little Compton schools are meeting with parents and the community over the next two days to respond to safety concerns and map out plans for the future.

In Little Compton Supt. Kathryn Crowley and the district's crisis management team meet with the public to talk about how safety will be maintined as students transition from the Wilbur-McMahon School to temporary modular units during renovations.

Little Compton school officials will meet with parents tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the School Commons Area, 28 Commons.

The Tiverton School District is also reviewing its safety plans after what is being considered one of the worst school shootings in recent U.S. history. 

Supt. Rearick and the Tiverton School Committee scheduled a special meeting for tomorrow on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. in the high school library, 100 North Brayton Road.
