Tiverton Firefighters Battle Suspicious Mill Fire

One firefighter was hospitalized for heat exhaustion.

TIVERTON, RI—Crews battled a two-alarm fire at a vacant mill building on Mill; Street that sent one firefighter to the hospital for heat exhaustion and is considered suspicious.

Fire Chief Robert Lloyd said that the fire is being investigated with the Fall River Fire Department because there have been suspicious fires in that city and the building, which has been used for firefighting practice, is vacant and has no electricity.

The fire broke out at around 2:10 a.m. at 1 Mill St.

One firefighter was transported to St. Anne's Hospital for heat exhaustion.

The building, near the border of Tiverton and Fall River, is near the Bourne MIll apartment complex.
