Tiverton Police: Speeding Leads To Drunken-Driving Charge For Fall River Man

Tiverton Man Arrested On Bench Warrant

Kevin Dias, 32, of 19 Mill St., Tiverton, was arrested on Nov. 30 at 5:03 p.m. on a bench warrant from Second Division District Court. According to Tiverton Police reports, police went to Dias residence for a warrant check because they knew he was wanted on a warrant and owned $1,900 fees.

Domestic Vandalism On Terrace Avenue

Jonathan Paul Nunes, 19, of 25 Terrace Ave., Tiverton, was arrested on Dec. 2 at 6:19 p.m. and charged with domestic vandalism. According to reports, Nunes was arguing with his father when he allegedly smashed a picture frame on the floor. He was arraigned by a justice of the peace and released on $1,000 personal recognizance.

Fall River Man Arrested For Drunken-Driving

Michael Moniz, 25, of 140 Hemlock St., Fall River, MA, was arrested on Dec. 4 at 11:30 p.m. and chaged with driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a chemical test and driving with a suspended license. Moniz was stopped on Route 24 south for driving 92 mph in a 55 mph zone. As the officer pursued Moniz he saw him swerving in and out of the breakdown lane. After police pulled Moniz and detected signs of intoxication he was subjected to and failed a field sobriety test. Moniz refused a chemical breath test at police headquarters. He was arraigned later that night by a justice of the peace and released on $1,000 personal recognizance.
