Tiverton Residents Can Adopt A Family In Need This Holiday Season

The police department is working to make the holidays special for families in need.

TIVERTON, RI — The holidays are fast approaching in Rhode Island, and the Tiverton Police Department is working to ensure all families have the resources to celebrate.

The department is looking for residents interested in "adopting" families, by providing for a family in need. The department will provide gift ideas or a shopping list, and, once bought, the gifts can be dropped off at the police station to be distributed. Gifts should be wrapped and labeled with the recipient's name.

"[You can] simultaneously help a family here in Tiverton that has experienced some dire circumstances this past year, while making yourself feel great knowing that you helped in closing your adopted family's year positively!" the department wrote on Facebook.
