Where You Can Help Those in Need This Thanksgiving

Looking for a place to volunteer this Thanksgiving? Here's a list of local places looking for volunteers for Thanksgiving.

Want to give back and help those in need this Thanksgiving?

There's several places around town where you can help prep and serve the Thanksgiving dinner for those in need. You might want to call ahead to let them know you are coming to volunteer.

Here's a look at places in need of volunteers this holiday.

Portsmouth

Community Complimentary Thanksgiving Dinner

Volunteers and donations are welcome for the Portsmouth United Methodist Church's Thanksgiving Day dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Make sure to call the PUM to check what they need. This dinner is free and open to the public.

Tiverton

Free Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner at Sandywoods

Volunteers and donations are welcome for Sandywoods' Thanksgiving community dinner to be held on Thanksgiving at 2 p.m. at 43 Muse Way.

If you're unable to be with us on Thanksgiving, but would like to either donate food or make a financial contribution towards the cost of the free dinner, please email info@sandywoodsfarm.org or call 401-241-7349, or bring your donation to any upcoming Sandywoods concert or other event, or to the Thursday farmers market.

Most of the food prep and cooking will be on Wednesday the 27th in the Sandywoods kitchen. If you'd like to help out with that, please email Nancy at sandpails@gmail.com.
