Plane Crashes Into Lake In South Carolina: FAA

ANDERSON, SC — An airplane crashed into a lake Saturday in South Carolina, according to authorities.

The incident occurred about 12:30 p.m. at Lake Hartwell near Anderson Regional Airport in Anderson, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, which reported that only the pilot was on board at the time and identified the plane as a single-engine Beechcraft B55.

Divers were responding mid-afternoon to the crash, WSPA reported. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident, according to the FAA.
