South Carolina State University On Lockdown Following Reported Shooting, Officials Say

Shots were fired at Hugine Suites, school officials say.

ORANGEBURG, SC — The South Carolina State University campus was on lockdown Saturday night after shots were fired, officials said.

A notice on the SCSU website said the shots had reportedly been fired at Hugine Suites; campus police were investigating.

"Hugine Suites residents who are not in the complex, report to SHM," school officials said. "Anyone in Hugine Suites, stay put. Students in other residence halls return to your rooms. Off-campus residents, please exit the campus."
