Deputies and Brown’s family are urging anyone who might know something to come forward, emphasizing that community tips are essential to finally bring answers and justice.
   

2. Aiken County man named Trustee of the Year by Association of Community College Trustees (postandcourier.com) — A longtime leader of Aiken Technical College has been named the Association of Community College Trustees’ 2025 Southern Region Trustee of the Year, spotlighting Aiken County’s role in workforce education. Joe Lewis, chair of the Aiken County Commission for Technical and Comprehensive Education, has helped drive new training programs, campus upgrades and a student-first culture that supports local industries.
   

3. Aiken Planning Commission approves development on Rudy Mason Parkway at Wire Road (postandcourier.com) — A new 84-unit apartment complex is moving forward at Rudy Mason Parkway and Wire Road after the Aiken Planning Commission unanimously backed rezoning and a concept plan. The project includes on-site recreation areas, a retention pond, traffic-mitigation requirements, and a sidewalk connection, with Aiken City Council set to hold final public hearings in January.
   

4. Vols Receiver Braylon Staley Named SEC Freshman of the Year (wdef.com) — An Aiken native is now the SEC Freshman of the Year: Tennessee wide receiver Braylon Staley earned the honor after a standout season leading all league freshmen in receiving yards and touchdowns. His success, including multiple 100-yard games and weekly SEC awards, puts Aiken on the map in major college football circles.
