$320M Lottery Jackpot Could Swell Before Saturday Night

There was no Powerball winner Wednesday, so the the jackpot could see an increase before the big drawing.

The Powerball jackpot has swelled to $320 MILLION for Saturday night’s drawing.

And since there was no winner on Wednesday, the jackpot could still see an increase.

Saturday's jackpot is the fifth largest in the game's history with a cash payout expected of at least $198 million.

“When we post a jackpot of this magnitude, it gets attention. Those that don’t play very often decide to take a chance and many first-time players enter the game,” said the Lottery’s Executive Director Paula Harper Bethea, in a news release. “As always, we encourage everyone to please, above all else, play responsibly.”

The odds of winning the jackpot are long, about 1 in 176 million.

To play, tickets must be purchased by 9:59 p.m. for the 10:59 p.m. drawing.

Powerball tickets are $2 and are available at these Columbia retailers.
