Richland County has had a rough year when it comes to highway fatalities with 38 deaths from Jan. 1 to Oct. 14, a report by the Department of Public Safety showed.  In the same time span of 2011, Richland County only had 31 deaths.  Nine deaths statewide occurred last weekend.  Of those nine, three were motorcyclists, three were pedestrians and one was on a moped. Two were not wearing a seatbelt.

In the same time span of 2011, Richland County only had 31 deaths.  Nine deaths statewide occurred last weekend.

A new report out has Richland County at seven more deaths than it did in 2011.
