The rich, soulful voice of A.C. Flora High School student John Harmon Cooper impressed the judges at the 2013 Best Singer in the State competition, which was held at the Fine Arts Center in Greenville on April 26.

As the winner of Richland One’s Best Singer in the District competition, John qualified to be one of six students to participate in the state competition.

Although he did not win the state contest, John gave an excellent performance. He sang two songs – “Lean on Me” in the first round and “Make You Feel My Love” in the second round.
