A family on Fernwood Road came home to an intruder on Sept. 19, according to a sheriff's office press release. When the family returned home, they heard noises coming from one of the bedrooms. Then they saw a "white male with a chubby face and freckles" flee the scene with a green backpack. The glass on the rear patio door had been broken, and the suspect allegedly tried to get into the home through a kitchen window and living room window. Anyone with information on this crime should call authorities immediately.

Anyone with information on this crime should call authorities immediately.

The suspect was carrying a green backpack as he fled the residence.
