State GOP Celebrates Chick-fil-A

It's the controversy that just won't die.

Since Chick-fil-A President and COO Dan Cathy endorsed the "biblical definition of the family unit" in an interview with the Baptist Press on July 16, the fast food giant has been at the center of controversy.

For the past two weeks social media feeds have been jammed with statements in support of or in opposition to Cathy. Not to mention polls and comment sections, . While many have used the opportunity to take a stand, many others are wondering how their food choices came to be connected to their views on marriage.

In any event, the Chick-fil-A fuss reached a crescendo today when millions of people who agreed with Cathy, flocked to the nearest location. 

South Carolina was no different from the rest of the country — and leading Republicans took part in the support.

State GOP Executive Director Matt Moore took his office out for lunch. Sen. Lindsey Graham and Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-3) ordered in for their staffs.

For the record, Graham, noted on his Facebook page, "My usual order is the #1 combo with slaw and a Coke Zero. Can’t beat it."

While the controversy began as one about gay marriage from the left's perspective, it has now become one of 1st Amendment Freedom of Speech rights, according to conservatives. Does the controversy have another turn in it?
