Clemson Man Arrested for Using Fraudulent Information

Milton Holt was charged after applying for state identification cards while using fraudulent information.

A Pickens County man has been arrested after trying to obtain state-issued identification cards using fraudulent information.

According to warrants issued by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Milton Garrison Holt, 45, of 53 Birch Place, Clemson, is charged with three counts of Unlawful Use of License or Fraudulent Application for License.

The warrants show that on Nov. 26, Nov. 28 and Nov. 29, Holt attempted to apply for identification cards using a fraudulent name, but his own photo at the S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles in York County. SLED began investigating at the request of the SCDMV.

These are misdemeanor charges according to SLED, but upon conviction could carry a sentence of 30 days in jail or a fine of up to $200.

Holt is being held at the York County Detention Center.
