Clemson's Hopkins Heading to NFL

DeAndre Hopkins announced Thursday he would skip his final season as a Tiger to play professionally.

Clemson wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins announced Thursday he's going to enter the NFL draft in April.

The record-setting Tiger, Hopkins said he had enjoyed his time at Clemson but was ready for the next level.

"It is tough to leave because this is my home, this is the place I wanted to play since I came out of the womb," said Hopkins said in a release. "But, I feel it is best for me and my family to take my talents to NFL at this time.

On Wednesday, his teammate Tajh Boyd announced he would not enter the draft and instead return to the gridiron in the fall.

Hopkins is a graduate of Daniel High School.
