Easley’s Echo Theatre Presents a Heart-Warming Holiday Classic with a Fresh Twist
Local group founded by two women brings A Christmas Carol to life December 12–13 & 19–20 at Foothills Playhouse

EASLEY, S.C. — With the holiday season nearly upon us, Easley will once again welcome the timeless tale of A Christmas Carol—but this time with a fresh and heartfelt adaptation from Echo Theatre LLC. Founded just over four years ago by Artistic Director Madison Grubbs and Administrative Director/Playwright Sjona Lindquist, Echo Theatre has quickly become a beloved part of the Upstate theatre community thanks to its original scripts, family-friendly values, and welcoming atmosphere.
“This story is about hope, compassion, and second chances,” says Ms. Grubbs. “We’re honored to offer a version where families can come together, enjoy beautiful characters, and leave feeling inspired.”
Lindquist adds, “We write everything ourselves because we believe local communities deserve theatre that’s rooted in meaning and heart. We want people to leave talking about the story—not worrying about content.”

The production opens on Friday, December 12 at 7 p.m., followed by Saturday performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. (Dec. 13), and another weekend on Dec. 19–20 with similar times. All shows are at the historic Foothills Playhouse (201 S. 5th St., Easley), and seats are limited.
Asked what makes this version unique, geared with a blend of classic Dickens’ spirit and fresh character development, Echo Theatre’s adaptation features lesser-known characters from the original book, enhanced costuming, and special attention to the younger cast members who learn and grow on stage.

Community reviews have been glowing: “A truly uplifting production,” one attendee said last winter. “Warm, professional, and the kids loved it,” wrote another. Echo Theatre says these responses keep “fueling our vision” to be a high-quality, wholesome choice for holiday entertainment.
Tickets are available exclusively at EchoTheatreSC.com. The theatre asks patrons to purchase ahead as the show is expected to sell out quickly. For more information, contact echotheatresc@gmail.com.
