Easley's Spencer Collins Earns SoCon Honors

Collins, a freshman at Wofford College, was named to the Southern Conference's All-Freshman team by the coaches and the media.

A former Easley High athlete is making a name for himself in the Southern Conference.

Spencer Collins, a freshman guard at Wofford College, has been named to the SoCon All-Freshman team by the coaches and the media.

Collins, the son of Roy and Lori Collins of Easley, is the seventh player in Wofford history to earn a spot on the All-Freshman squad. He is the second leading freshman scorer in the Southern Conference with 12.5 points per game. He has scored in double figures in 21 games and he has started all 31 games for the Terriers.

Wofford will open play in the 2013 Southern Conference Tournament at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 8 in Asheville, N.C.
