Family Unity Festival is Saturday

Event, free and open to the public, in downtown Easley features parade.

The Annual Family Unity Festival & Parade will be held Saturday, April 13 from 11am - 5pm in OldMarket Square.

Councilman Thomas Wright urges everyone to attend the festival, which features vendors, live entertainment onstage and an area for children.

The parade kicks off at 1pm in the Bank of America parking lot on Main Street, Wright said. The theme for this year is "Support Our Children Through Unity in the Community."

As part of the festival, there will be a competition between area Youth Groups that will benefit S.H.I.N.E. The Youth Group that brings the most non-perishable, non-expired food items to the S.H.I.N.E. booth between 11am and 5pm Saturday will receive a $50 donation to their youth group fund.
