Fellowship of the Called

God was moving in mighty ways March 22-23 during Fellowship of the Called (FOTC), a two-day event at Southern Wesleyan University in Central.

FOTC’s focus is young men and women exploring the call to ministry. The event brought together middle school and high school students from South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and as far away as Ohio. FOTC was led and organized by the Religion Division including the help of SWU students, pastors and youth pastors.

Students and faculty led worship, guided personal reflection, small groups and a campfire fellowship where life-changing stories where shared. By sharing their own personal stories, students shed light on questions normally pondered by individuals feeling led into ministry.

“What does it mean to be called?”

“How can you know if God is calling you to ministry?”

“Once you know and have accepted your calling, what’s the next step?”

Jon Brady, youth pastor from Eden Wesleyan Church in Spartanburg, was the lead speaker for the weekend.

“Many participants came seeking affirmation, understanding, or guidance, and the Lord provided just that,” said Stephanie Snyder, a Religion major.
