Greater Easley Chamber Of Commerce: United Way Of Pickens County First Steps For Bright By Text Launch

United Way of Pickens County has funded Pickens County First Steps (PCFS) with a grant to launch Bright by Text (BBT). BBT will help families by promoting the learning, development, and health of children from the prenatal stages to eight years old. The text service will include topics such as brain development, games and activities, health and wellness, STEM, safety, and more. Bright by Text will also feature messages with information and resources specific to each community. It will be available in two languages that are English and Spanish.

The service will include two to four text messages per week with links to learning activities, tips, and community resources. They will be specifically targeted to the age and local zip code of the subscriber's children. The service is free to subscribe to and can be canceled at any time. To sign up, parents and caregivers with children under eight years old can text SCKIDS to 274448.
