Pig Pickin' Benefits Cancer Association
Two-day party to benefit the Pickens County Cancer Association kicks off with chicken wings on Friday night, BBQ on Saturday.

The 2nd Annual Pig Pickin' for the PCCA kicks off tonight in Old Market Square.
The event raises money for the Pickens County Cancer Association. Funds generated by the two-day event will help the PCCA continue to help area cancer patients.
The PCCA helps cancer patients with transportation, prescription assistance, co-pay assistance, wigs, nutritional supplies and medical equipment.

The group also provides for support groups.
Last year's event raised $7,000 for the PCCA, PCCA Board Member Cynthia Smoak said. She told Patch in an earlier interview that she hopes the 2013 event will draw bigger crowds from around the Upstate, as the 2012 event conflicted with the Mauldin BBQ Festival.

The Pig Pickin' kicks off tonight at 6pm and will run until 10pm.
$10 gets you all-you-can-eat chicken wings. The cost for children 10 and under is $5.
Teams will be competing for a People's Choice award for their chicken wings.
On Saturday, come down and enjoy all-you-can-eat BBQ for a $10 bracelet purchase. Children 10 and under are $5.
Saturday's event is a South Carolina Barbeque Association sanctioned cook-off.
Teams from the tri-state area have been invited to participate, which in turn allows them to earn points toward the state title.
The barbecue competition kicks off at 11am and will run until 4pm Saturday.
Many teams will be vying to be crowned the winner, including the top three teams from last year's competition: Nards Barbecue, the Bold Branch BBQ Boys and Fluff Smoakin' Butts.
Attendees will get a free concert when they purchase admission for the Friday and Saturday events.
Euphoria will be playing in Old Market Square from 6pm – 10pm.
The Derrick Dorsey Band will perform from 11am – 4pm during the BBQ cook-off.
