Severe Weather Cancels After-School Activities

Activities beginning at 5 p.m. or later will be canceled according to the School District of Pickens County.

After-school activities at Pickens County schools have been canceled Wednesday afternoon because of a severe weather threat.

A spokesperson for the School District of Pickens County said all after-school activities beginning at 5 p.m. were canceled, including after-school care, practices and rehearsals.

"We want all students and parents to have the chance to get home during the daylight prior to the most severe weather," Pickens County schools' spokesman John Eby said.
